Otter Launch Imminent!

Otter is ready to be launched in 7 days time. Our second boat Otter is now fully fitted out and the engine installed. The team are finishing off the last few things that need doing Monday morning before her Boat Safety inspection that afternoon. We plan to launch her into the river Severn at 8 o’clock in the morning next Saturday (20th June). She will then be tested for the next 10 days before being available for hire from 1st July. Thanks to everyone who has booked and enjoyed a day out on Badger and to all who have pre-booked days out on both Badger & Otter. We have just purchased our third boat which will be available for 3 & 4 night breaks from 1st March 2016. Here’s hoping for a safe and successful launch – more details and pictures will follow...

Ship Shape and..

After many trials and a few alterations Badger is now fully operational and hires are coming in steadily. Our second boat Otter has had the floor in the main cabin replaced, all internal woodwork painted and the new galley will be installed in the next couple of weeks. Otter is on target for a late June launch and will be available to hire from 1st july. We are all looking forward to a long hot summer so fingers...

Badger Launched!

The launch team all met at The Dog at Over for breakfast before splitting up – some to the Gloucester yard to prepare the crane and Badger for the launch into the River Severn. The rest heading to R W Davies at Saul Junction to collect our second boat Otter. The photos show what was a near perfect day –  Badger performs well and needs some fine tuning to the ballast to get her sitting better in the water. Our second boat Otter is in the corner of the yard awaiting a refit and launch on 20th June 2015. Thanks must go to everyone involved yesterday: Allen Prout Crane Hire, Ellis Transport, R W Davies Boatyard, Steve Lacey Marine Diesel Engineer and all the rest of the team that helped make the day go without a hitch. Update on Badger 18 January 2015

Only 7 days left and Badger is ready for launch. The Boat Safety Certificate will be issued tomorrow and the signwriting is being applied by Werxco on Wednesday. She is being launched by crane next Saturday 24th Jan at 11.40 straight into the River Severn and brought straight through Gloucester Lock and into the Docks which will be her new base. Anyone wanting a look or even a short trip down the canal is more than welcome. Our second boat Otter is awaiting collection from R W Davies yard at Saul junction and will be brought by Ellis Transport to our Gloucester yard where she will be completely fitted out ready for launch on June 20th. Here’s hoping for good weather and a spectacular entrance into Gloucester...

Update on Badger 18 December 2014

Badger is now fully fitted both inside and out, all that remains to be done is to have the new floor covering fitted inside the main cabin, a final touch up of the external paintwork, the sign writing to be applied followed by her final boat safety scheme inspection. Update on Badger 24 November 2014

As the winter closes in our first boat Badger is in a marquee at our yard in Gloucester where work is nearing completion of all the interior woodwork. The engine is fully installed and working and the final coat of paint is 90% complete. Our second boat Otter is having the final alterations we have specified being carried out at R W Davies boatyard on the Gloucester Sharpness Canal. Badger will be launched directly into the river Severn on Saturday morning 24th January 2015 and straight away her space in the yard will be taken by Otter who will then be completely fitted out ready for launch in June...
